The Risorgimento Museum celebrates the unification of Italy (and kings ceding powers to parliaments). This exhibition is a vignette , exhibiting only three paintings, yet contending with the opulant palace environment of Guarino Guarini’s famous barouque building in Turin. Notably, the square outside of the building, Palazzo Carignano, is where Nietzche famously protected a horse being beaten by its driver, leading the philosopher to exclaim his devastating last words: “Mutter, ich bin dumm.” (Mother, I am dumb.)
