Where they reverse the sea with the sky refers to the optical phenomenon called fata morgana, which describes the condition of hot and cold air abutting and generating perceptual illusions such as floating, doubling, or reversing of objects (usually happening near the surface of the sea or desert). This exhibiton uses color spaces aligned with naturalistic weather sensation–radiant orange and yellows, deep earthy browns, and misty pale, blue-grays–and images that radiate, repeat and flip. The works continue an inquiry into the nature and fallacies of perception, in this case with an awareness of exhibiting near the ocean, in Miami.
